Primary school students of Sri Lanka will be getting a chance to own a $ 100 laptop under a new educational expansion project.
The officials of the ‘One Laptop Per Child (OLPC)’ are currently conducting discussions with the Sri Lankan Government authorities about introducing these laptops.
The Minister of Education has responded favourably to the matter while President Mahinda Rajapaksa is also encouraging the project.
‘One Laptop Per Child (OLPC)’ is a US-based organization that partners with several technological and academic institutions. Working with local partners and governments worldwide, it aims to get the learning tool into children’s hands.
